  • This event will be run under EA and FEI rules and guidelines where applicable.  The onus is on the competitor to know the rules.
  • All participants MUST sign the disclaimer form.  Entries will not be accepted without a signed disclaimer.
  • Riders who are not ASPR members or at least Associate members of EA must pay a $20 ‘day’ membership.
  • Each and every rider must wear an approved standard helmet at all times whilst mounted. Helmets must comply with standards AS/NZ3838, EN1384, ASTNF1163.
  • Riders under 18 years of age must wear safety approved helmets regardless of the level they are competing at.
  • Ponies must NOT exceed 149cms with shoes or 148cms without shoes.
  • Rider does NOT have to be a member of EA and pony does not have to be registered with EA to compete in the Unofficial Pony Showjumping, Freestyles or Associate dressage
  • Rider must be a senior or junior member of EA and owner must be at least an associate member of  EA in order to enter the 4 & 5 yo Young Pony classes and Official Pony Dressage tests. Pony must be registered with EA and have a Pony Dressage Performance Card.
  • Riders do not have to be members of the Australian Sports Pony Registry Inc. and ponies do not have to be registered with the ASPR Inc.
  • Ponies do not have to be registered with any other breed group.
  • Pony must be a minimum of 4 years of age for the showjumping classes and must be a minimum of 3 years of age for the dressage classes.

  • A copy of the Dressage NSW Preliminary Freestyle can be downloaded from the DNSW web site
  • A copy of the Pas De Deux test can be downloaded from the DNSW web site

Pony Showjumping and 'Emu Sports Club' Pony 6 Bar
Pony 6 Bar
  • Pony 6 Bar event will be held on Saturday evening, 24th April in the Indoor Arena
  • Pony must be a minimum of 4 years of age as at 1st August, 2009
  • All obstacles may be kept at the same height or at progressive heights.
  • Starting height of first jump will be approx. 45 cms. Jumps will be raised in 10 to 15 cm increments.
  • In the event of a refusal or run-out the rider must restart the course at the obstacle where the fault was made.
  • As an indication of height, the 2009 NSW Pony 6 Bar winner jumped 1.20 metres

Unofficial Pony Showjumping
  • Ponies must be at least 4 y.o. as at 1st August, 2009 to compete in the showjumping section of this event.
  • Table AM 7  -  “If achieving a clear round (not against the clock), the bell will ring and the rider will immediately proceed into the jump-off course, against the clock.  Riders must walk the jump-off course at the same time as the first round course.
  • Pony 6 Bar: Refer to FEI showjumping rules  -  www.fei.org
  • Classes 1 to 5  -  Ponies may compete in a maximum of three (3) consecutive heights.
  • If entry numbers suffice in classes 1 to 4, classes may be split into pony height ie: 12.2hh & under,
  and over 12.2hh

Best Performed All Round Pony

The winner will be determined from the best
two placings for dressage (must score 58% or better) and the best two placings in the showjumping classes.
ASPR High Point Awards - Sponsored by Acu-light
High Point Awards of an 'Acu-light' and special rosette will be
presented to the following:

  • High Point ASPR Performance Club Pony
  • High Point ASPR Premium Grade Pony
  • High Point ASPR Stallion
  • High Point ASPR Junior Member
  • High Point ASPR Showjumping Pony

To be eligible for ASPR High Point Awards, owner must be a current financial member of the ASPR and pony must be registered with the ASPR.  Winners will be determined from best two placings in classes 15 to 30. In the case of a draw winners will be determined by percentages achieved for those two placings.

For the High Point ASPR Showjumping Pony, winner will be determined from the best two placings in classes 1 to 5.
General Event Information
Young Pony Dressage
TO BE HELD IN THE INDOOR ARENA ON SATURDAY 24TH APRIL

4 yo Young Pony Dressage Test - Sponsored by International Animal Health Products
  • Age of pony : Entry in this class is limited to ponies born on or between 1st August, 2005 to 31st July, 2006.
  • Test will be EA Preliminary 1D and will be conducted individually
  • Pony MUST be registered with Equestrian Australia and have a current pony dressage performance card. Owners and riders must be current members of Equestrian Australia.
  • Minimum age of rider—Rider must turn 10 years of age in 2010.
  • Snaffle bit ONLY
  • Dressage whip is allowed
  • Caller is allowed.

5 yo Young Pony Dressage Test 
  • Age of pony : Entry in this class is limited to ponies born on or  between 1st August, 2004 to 31st July, 2005.
  • Pony MUST be registered with Equestrian Australia and have a current pony dressage performance card. Owners and riders must be current members of Equestrian Australia.
  • Minimum age of rider—Rider must turn 10 years of age in 2010.
  • Test is the FEI Preliminary Dressage Test for 5 year olds.
  • 5 yo Young Pony test is performed individually
  • Snaffle bit ONLY
  • Dressage whip is allowed
  • Caller is allowed.
