GENERAL EVENT INFORMATION -

  • This event will be run under EA and FEI rules and guidelines where applicable.  The onus is on the
  competitor to know the rules.
  • EA Dressage Tests, 2009 Edition. Preparatory Test 1& 2,  2008 Edition. Freestyles, 2008 Edition. FEI tests PSG & Inter 1, 2009 edition. All tests in 60 x 20m arenas
  • All participants (including handlers and riders) MUST sign the disclaimer form.  Entries will not be accepted without a signed disclaimer.
  • Associate, Freestyles, Preparatory and Pony 6 Bar only  -  Riders who are not current ASPR members or at least Associate members of EA must pay a $20 ‘day’ membership.
  • Each and every rider must wear an approved standard helmet at all times whilst mounted. Helmets must comply with standards AS/NZ3838, EN1384, ASTNF1163.
  • Riders under 18 years of age must wear safety approved helmets regardless of the level they are competing at.
  • Ponies do not have to be ASPR registered.
  • Ponies must NOT exceed 148cms without shoes.
  • Late entries, FAXED entries and phone entries will NOT BE ACCEPTED.
  • Scratchings and Refunds:  Entry fees will not be refunded after the closing date of entries unless a medical or veterinary certificate is received by 6th August, 2010. Refunds will only be considered for the dressage classes.
  • In such cases, 30% of the entry fees will be retained by the O.C. Entry fees will be refunded in full for   scratchings received before the closing date of entries.
  • Bridle Numbers:  Riders who have EA issued bridle numbers must include their respective number when entering. Ponies without numbers will be allocated a number on the draw.  It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure they obtain a bridle number set from their local saddlery for use at this event.  Bridle Numbers must be displayed on both sides of pony’s bridle or saddle cloth at all times when being ridden.
  • Presentation times will be announced over the public address system throughout each day of competition.
  • Catering will be available on the grounds from Saturday morning - and available throughout both days of competition.
  • The Event Organising Committee reserves the right to cancel, alter or amend any classes prior to or during the event.
  • Ponies do not have to be registered with any other breed group.
  • Riders of stallions must be aged 10 years & over.
  • Riders in the Prep tests do not have to wear jackets - they may wear a jumper or vest.
PONY 6 BAR

  • Pony 6 Bar event will be held on Saturday evening, 31st July, in Indoor 1
  • Pony must be a minimum of 4 years of age
  • 6 identical vertical obstacles are placed in a straight line.
  • All obstacles may be kept at the same height or at progressive heights.
  • In the event of a refusal or run-out the rider must restart the course at the
  obstacle where the fault was made.

Measuring
Saturday 31st July  11 am to 2 pm
Sunday 1st August 8 am to 12 noon
Ponies not entered in this event (and horses) are welcome to attend for official measuring.
Ponies entered in the event have priority.
EV members $15  Non-members $20
Payment to be made to measurer on the day

Booking for official measuring  must be made to the ASPR Federal Office

4 yo & 5 yo Young Pony tests will be conducted in accordance with the Young Horse competition rules (Section 5 of the EA Dressage Competition Rules)

4 yo Class
  • Age of pony : Entry in this class is limited to ponies born on or between 1st August, 2006 to 31st July, 2007. ie: pony will turn 4 years of age on 1st August, 2010.
  • Pony MUST be registered with Equestrian Australia and have a current pony dressage performance card. Owners and riders must be current members of Equestrian Australia.
  • Minimum age of rider—Rider must turn 10 years of age in 2010.
  • Snaffle bit ONLY
  • Dressage whip is allowed
  • Ponies will enter the arena (under saddle) in groups of 2 or 3. Once ponies have entered the arena, they will be under the direction of a caller
  • Phase 1  -  Judges will award a score for walk, trot, canter and general impression.
  • Phase 2  -  Ponies will be unsaddled and presented individually to the judges in hand. Ponies will be awarded a score for conformation/type.
  • Rider must have a handler standing by to assist with unsaddling of pony.
  • Each group will be allocated approximately 15 minutes

5 yo Young Pony Dressage Test
  • Age of pony : Entry in this class is limited to ponies born on or between 1st August, 2005 to 31st July, 2006. ie: pony will turn 5 years of age on 1st August, 2010.
  • Pony MUST be registered with Equestrian Australia and have a current pony dressage performance card. Owners and riders must be current members of Equestrian Australia.
  • Minimum age of rider—Rider must turn 10 years of age in 2010.
  • Test to be ridden is the FEI test for 5 year olds 
  • Snaffle bit ONLY
  • Dressage whip is allowed
  • 5 yo Young Pony test is performed individually
  • Caller is allowed.

  • High Point Awards are determined from the best two placings achieved in the Associate and Official Pony Dressage classes.

Indoor 1 - Saturday 31st July 8 am to 10.30 am 
Please note that you may ride around the dressage arena
but must not enter the arena at any time.

Competition will be deemed to have commenced at midnight on Friday 30th July so no rider may enter any dressage arena after this time unless it is their specified time to ride in the event draw.
