Section 6 - High Point Eventing/Combined Training Pony - Open
The Annual National High Point Awards include the "Sandra Regan Memorial Award"
for the pony which has gained the highest point score overall (junior or open) in
Preliminary Level Dressage Australia wide.
(Sandra Regan was a founding member of the ASPR)
RULES & CONDITIONS OF ENTRY
- Pony must be registered with the ASPR and owner must be a current financial member.
- Entry fee for the High Point Awards is $5 per section.
- High Point Award Year runs from 1st January to the 31st December. High Point cards MUST be returned to the Awards Co-ordinator by the following 31st January or
points will be not be counted.
- A current height certificate for ponies aged 8 years and under MUST be supplied with entry form and then on an annual basis until pony is over 8 years of age.
- If the same pony/rider combination wins one particular section for two consecutive years, that combination is no longer eligible to enter the High Point competition at the
same level again and MUST move up to the next level.
- In the case of equal placings in a competition - full points are awarded.
- Only the highest place achieved on the day can be entered on the high point card.
- Any pony entered in both Junior and Open sections must complete a seperate high point card for each section ie: points gained by a pony with an open rider cannot be
included on the junior high point card.
- It is the responsibility of the owner to ensure that information is entered correctly onto the high point card. Cards MUST be signed by an official of the day. (Person signing
must include official title).
- In Sections 1 & 2 (Dressage only), competitors must achieve a score of 55% or above in order to gain points for the placing.
- ASPR Committee decision is final on High Point results and no correspondence will be entered into.
SCORING
Points will be allocated dependant on the level of competition as per Categories below. Points are gained from dressage, showjumping, eventing and combined training events held by the EFA (official or associate), HRCAV (official or unofficial), Pony Club (official or unofficial), RDA (Riding for the Disabled) competitions, Breed organisation competitions and inter-school competitions.
NB : Freshman's Showjumping is not eligible for points.
Category 1 - National Championship Level
Category 2 - State Championship Level
Category 3 - Zone/Regional Championships
Category 4 - All other local level competitions
Entry into the Roll of Merit (ROM) Awards is FREE OF CHARGE and automatic following registration of pony.
Points to be gained in Dressage and/or Showjumping and/or Horse Trials/Eventing and/or Combined Training
Points for ROM Awards gained by ponies registered as Performance Club WILL be transferred with the pony if it is assessed as a Premium Grade Pony.
* ROM Award * - requires a minimum of 100 points (Bronze)
* Champion ROM Award * - requires a minimum of 300 points (Silver)
* Supreme ROM Award * - requires a minimum of 600 points (Gold)
(Points for the ROM Awards are taken by the ASPR Award Co-ordinator from the High Point Award Result cards - if a rider has entered for the High Point and therefore gained automatic entry into ROM Awards, but then chooses to not enter the High Point for one year, points for ROM Awards will not be lost)

Annual High Point Awards recognise the achievements of registered Premium Grade and Performance Club Ponies in Dressage, Eventing, Showingjumping and Combined Training.
HighPoint Awards are separated into Junior and Open sections.
Junior (ie: rider may compete in the ASPR Junior High Point Award up to the end
of the year in which he/she turns 16 years of age.)
Open (ie: rider may compete in the ASPR Open High Point Award from the beginning
of the year in which he/she turns 17 years of age.)
The owner of the pony nominated for the High Point Award must be a current financial member of the ASPR.
