Overheight Appendix
Mares and stallions that are over the 148 cms without shoes 
may be registered in the Overheight Appendix.

Any pony stallion or mare that has previously been assessed and registered with the ASPR Inc. and then grows
over the height maximum will be automatically transferred to the Overheight Appendix.
Geldings that grow over the height maximum will be de-registered.


Conditions of Entry

- Stallions and mares eligible only
- Height - over 148 cms without shoes (no maximum height)
- Breed - any
- Colour - any
- Age - 3 years and over (as at 1st August preceding application)

- Horse must be assessed by the ASPR/ACE Group Assessors or already have been assessed by the ACE Group Assessors.

- 70% and under 80% - OH First Premium
- 80% and above – OH Premier
- If all 4 phases (conformation/in hand, at liberty, ridden and jumping) are completed a * rating will be applied.

- Overheight Appendix listed mares and stallions are NOT eligible to compete as an Australian Sports Pony and are NOT eligible for ASPR Inc. awards. The ASPR Inc. is
  planning to introduce special classes for overheight mares and stallions that are suitable to breed sports ponies in the near future.

- Owners of Overheight Appedix mares and stallions are required to become members of the ASPR Inc.

Registration Fee - $45.00

Microchipping - optional

Owners of Overheight Appendix stallions are required to purchase ASPR service certificates - apply to the Federal Office

Any progeny born on or after 1st August, 2008 must supply an ASPR service certificate in order to be eligible for assessment.

If your mare or stallion is already registered with the ACE Group and has an assessment score, then all you need to do is :

- supply a copy of the ACE assessment score sheet
- supply a completed Overheight Appendix listing application along with the fee

If your stallion or mare does not have already have an assessment score with the ACE Group, you will need to book the horse into the next ASPR/ACE Assessment Tour.

If your stallion or mare has an assessment score/license obtained from a stud book or registry recognised by the ASPR, please contact the Federal Office to check if it is acceptable.

Breeding Licenses

An ASPR Overheight Appendix Breeding License will be issued following :

- An Overheight Appendix listed stallion producing 6 progeny that are fully registered as ASPR First Premium or Premier ponies (achieving scores of 70% or over and that
  do not exceed 148 cms without shoes
- In order for ponies to be included in the progeny listing for the stallion, the pony must complete the in-hand, at liberty AND under saddle phases of the assessment.
- Any progeny that is listed in the Premium Pony Stud Book that grows overheight will be de-registered and listed in the Overheight Appendix (geldings ineligible)
  providing that score requirements (as above) are met.
