The Australian Sports Pony Registry is a new registry, which consists of pony riders, trainers and breeders from around Australia who perceive a need to cultivate a "type" of pony in this country which meets the criteria of being 148 cms or under, demonstrates outstanding temperament suitable for a child rider and is capable of developing, through correct training, the ability to satisfy the high standard necessary for a top ranking pony athlete.

Such ponies would have the ability to compete successfully when required on an international level in all performance and sporting disciplines, especially dressage, showjumping and eventing.

Members of the ASPR aim to encourage, promote, train and/or breed ponies of bone and substance which, above all, have a tractable temperament and outstanding movement. A similar registry specifically for sports ponies has not existed in this country before.

We appreciate the fact you have reached this site and we hope you enjoy the information and photographs you will find here. Your comments on ways of improving the registry or this site are welcome so please feel free to sign our guest book below.
